Mt. Sunapee has a diversity of activities in all seasons. Popular ski mountain in Winter, state beach in Summer, Zip Lining Adventure Park, hiking trails, Sunapee has it all.  Home to the Annual League of New Hampshire Crafters Fair in August. Great parking.  Lots of local restaurants in the area.

The perfect picnic area, lots of room to avoid crowds, with easy access and plenty of parking.  Views without the effort. There is also a playground and restrooms.  Trail heads to hike Mt. Kearsarge start at rear of parking lot.

A secluded and sylvan setting, Wadliegh’s flat trails are popular walking targets for locals.  Water access at the beach is great for families with well roped swimming area and lifeguard.  Picnic areas are great for a relaxing lunch break or for chillin’ all afternoon.

Rollins State Park is situated on the south slope of Mt. Kearsarge. The 3-1/2 mile long scenic auto road winds through woodlands to the picnic areas. The picnic area has views that stretch from Mt. Monadnock to the hills of New Hampshire’s coastal plain. The summit of Monadnock and the Boston skyline are visible on the horizon. A one-half mile trail to the summit of Mt.Kearsarge is one of the shortest access routes.

While not a state maintained park, the S-R-K Greenway is a must for this list.  It is a 75 mile loop trail system maintained by all volunteers that traverses the Peaks of Sunapee, Kearsarge, and Ragged Mountains.  A true “goal hike”, the SRK has several sections with a variety of terrain and experiences.  The Greenway’s mission is to create and maintain a forever green, great circle of trail corridors and conserved lands providing walkers with minimally-developed access to the mountains, lakes, vistas and historical sites of the Lake Sunapee Region.
